George Morrison (Anishinaabe, 1919-2000), Structural Landscape, 1952, oil on canvas, Museum purchase, 1955.187
Join fellow art lovers and curator Annika Johnson for an hour of close looking and discussion. This session will focus on a single work of art from the Museum’s permanent collection pictured here. Registered participants will receive a high quality digital image and a series of discussion prompts in advance to help spark reflection and conversation. During the online gathering, we will enjoy a facilitated discussion navigating both personal responses and curatorial perspectives.
Registration: $20; Joslyn Members enjoy a 15% discount. Registration fee is non-refundable. Attendance is limited and advance registration is required. Registration is now closed.
This curator-led discussion will take place
in a virtual learning environment. Class sizes are kept small (capped
at 20 people) to maximize interaction with the curator, and participants
should feel comfortable using the Zoom platform. Each program will last approximately one hour.
These courses are designed for anyone who would like to learn more about
art and develop skills for closer looking. No prior knowledge of art
history is required.
