The evening begins at 5 pm with a gallery walkthrough hosted by Karin
Campbell, Joslyn's Phil Willson Curator of Contemporary Art (optional;
see ticketing information below).
At 6 pm guests will enjoy live music
in the atrium with award-winning artist Edem Soul.
Throughout the
night, visitors can view the special exhibition
30 Americans, sip on
romantic cocktails from the bar, or indulge in small plate selections
available for purchase in Joslyn's Cafe Durham.
The performance is free; no reservations required. Guests wishing to view the 30 Americans exhibition
and/or attend the gallery talk must obtain a ticket at the Admissions
Desk (free for members; special $5 tickets on Thursday nights for
general public adults).
EDEM SOUL MUSIC, originally Edem K. Garro, was born on the east coast and raised in the Midwest. Focused on cultural preservation and identity, Edem sings in her native language, called "Ga" originating from the Ga tribe of Ghana, West Africa, and plays the harp and ukulele. She received the 2017 Omaha Entertainment and Arts Award for Best Soul Artist and was the Omaha Capitol District's Musician in Residence in 2018.
