Tuesday, November 27, 2018: Pattern and Purpose
Docent-Guided Tour: View quilts from the 19th century to today in Pattern and Purpose: American Quilts from Shelburne Museum. They are bold in design and pattern as they reveal their maker’s skill–from complex geometric designs to delicate patterns drawn from nature.

Art-Making Session: Create artworks that trick the eye to create illusions of movement, hidden images, or vibrating pattern. Quilts from the galleries will guide us as we learn how color and shape can interact to produce paintings with hypnotic effects.

GRADES K-3. Students participate in an art-making session and then go on a docent-guided tour.

GRADES 4-6 Students go on a docent-guided tour and then participate in an art-making session.
