Art Encounters offers docent-guided tours of Joslyn's collections and special exhibitions on the third Thursday of each month, beginning at 10:30 am. Designed to appeal to all art lovers, from the well-seasoned to the amateur, these monthly programs are a great way to learn about art with others.
Photographer Andrew Moore, highly regarded for his large-format historic and cultural documentary photography, has worked along the 100th meridian for the past decade, drawn to its mythic past and the people who call the High Plains home. Photographing from a slight elevation which gives the sense of being within the landscape rather than above it, Moore captures the geographic forms and the qualities of light, wind, and weather that define the High Plains. Join us for a walk through
Dirt Meridian, an extraordinary exhibition of forty-two large-scale photographs.
Art Encounters is free for most programs. General public guests receive a discounted price on ticketed exhibition tours. Reservations are not required. For program details please contact Joslyn's Director of Adult Programs at (402) 661-3862 or
by email.
