Orly Genger (b. New York, 1979) makes hand-knotted, painted rope
sculptures that transform spaces into otherworldly environments. Often
site-specific, Genger’s installations draw inspiration from across the
history of art, from early twentieth-century masterpieces of Modern
painting, to large-scale Land Art works, to the pared-down forms of
Minimalist sculpture. This exhibition located in the Riley CAP Gallery will feature Genger’s most recent
work, which includes cast bronze sculptures, and a monumental woven
sculpture.
