30 Americans: Get the Word Out Podcast
A Service-Learning Project

Joslyn is honored to join the collaboration with Blackburn Alternative Program (BAP) and University of Nebraska Omaha's (UNO) Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders. This service-learning partnership, established seven years ago a "Get the Word Out," gives students the opportunity to provide meaningful advocacy for community partners.

For this spring semester project, BAP students are developing a podcast featuring their responses to 30 Americans. Blackburn teachers Cathy Nelson (service learning), Hilary George (art), and Deana Colon (English) are bringing students to the Museum to record their reactions to works in the exhibition. Dr. Mitzi Ritzman's UNO speech pathology students students are assisting with literacy and language preparation back in the classroom.
