Every single person at KBMP has a different story. But when they come to the studio the differences that might otherwise serve as barriers between them dissolve. The one common factor, the glue that holds them all together, is that they come to the studio to create. Every single student is special. They each have a gift, and at KBS they get the time, the support, and the tools to use their gifts and create something – anything they desire.
I’m new to the studio, and I’ve only spent three Saturday afternoons at KBMP. So I ‘ve really only gotten a small glimpse into what KBS is and the people who are KBMP. But already it’s become my safe haven. KBMP is my escape from the worries and deadlines I have to deal with all week at school and work. I love that I get to temporarily forget everything else, and just focus on being in the studio, watching, and helping the process.
Even on slow Saturdays, when there aren’t many students, the studio is overflowing with life. It’s loud, messy, and crazy. It’s the perfect environment for art. To me every Saturday is an opportunity to learn more, do more, and to discover another student’s story. I can’t wait to tell you the stories of the students I meet, because each of their stories is worth sharing.
