In celebration of
In Living Color: Andy Warhol and Contemporary Printmaking from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and his Family Foundation, join us for an afternoon of music, dance, and art-making! Admission
to the event is free. Tickets to
In Living Color are free for Joslyn
members, youth ages 17 and younger, and college students with ID. $5 for
general public adults.
MUSIC & DANCE
Andy Warhol hung out with lots of famous people at Studio 54, a nightclub in New York City. Visit our version of Studio 54 where we’ll be playing music of the 70s and 80s. Put on your dancing shoes and learn some moves from
Ballet Nebraska!
ART-MAKING
Pop Art Celebrity Wall
“In the future everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes.” Andy said it – and now’s your chance! Visit the photo booth and create a digital Pop Art self-portrait. Print one to take home and one to add to our community celebrity wall.
Silkscreen Posters
Come meet our friends from the Union for Contemporary Art!
They'll be running their mobile print lab during Family Fun Day, ready
to answer your questions about screen printing and all the new
opportunities being offered just up the street... Make sure to pull your
very own poster to take home!
Subway Art
Keith Haring, a friend of Andy’s, was known for his public art on walls and billboards in New York City’s subway tunnels. Join us to add energetic lines to sculptures – inspired by Haring’s dancing figures – while grooving to the rhythmic sound of subway cars coming and going.
