Ballet Nebraska returns October 19 and 21 with its award winning production of Momentum!
This year’s mixed repertory program will include an all new line-up of choreographers, featuring a diverse and exciting mix of ballets that will be sure to have you on the edge of your seat!
Brazilian choreographer Armando Duarte brings a South American flair to the company with his lively and buoyant Sanfona de Boca. Matthew Carter will premiere his beautiful telling of the Japanese story Sadako, inspired by his many summers spent in Japan as a touring performer. Enjoy an island getaway with Erika Overturff’s Tropico. The Caribbean rhythms of this exuberant ballet will have you dancing in your seat!
Momentum is a part of Ballet Nebraska’s ongoing partnership with Joslyn Art Museum. This year we team up to explore contemporary art from the viewpoint of visual artist and choreographer as Joslyn hosts the exhibition
Under Pressure: Contemporary Prints from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer (October 6, 2012 – January 6, 2013).
Tickets are available at ticketomaha.com and 402-345-0606. As a special benefit, Joslyn members will receive a 15% discount on Momentum tickets purchased by October 12 when they use the code found in
Joslyn NOW members magazine.
Following Friday night’s performance, join Ballet Nebraska for a Patron Reception in the Joslyn Art Museum’s exquisite Fountain Court. Enjoy a tasty bite and a chance to celebrate with the cast! Reception tickets are available for $25 at ticketomaha.com and 402-345-0606.
On October 18–19, Momentum school matinees will feature a variety of short dance works, conversation with a choreographer and a curator, and the chance for some student groups to tour Under Pressure and enjoy a brown bag lunch at the Museum.
