Momentum, American Midwest Ballet’s award-winning mixed-repertory
program, features an eclectic mix of ballets that showcase the exciting
range of dance as an expressive art form.
Headlining this season’s
selection: Rhapsody in Blue, choreographed by Erika Overturff to the
iconic music of George Gershwin. Momentum will also feature a dance
inspired by a work of art from Joslyn’s permanent collection: May
Stevens’s
Connemara (Rock Pool), 1999-2001 (pictured below left).
American Midwest Ballet presents three main stage productions each season, performing a broad
range of repertory. The company's spectacular Season 9 features an
all-new
Momentum, the holiday favorite
The Nutcracker, and the world
premiere of
The Wizard of Oz, choreographed by the company's own Erin
Alarcón. Season 9 subscriptions are on sale through September 1 at
amballet.org.
