The StoryCorps Mobile Tour is coming to Omaha in partnership with KIOS
91.5 FM, Joslyn Art Museum, and Omaha Public Library. Joslyn is the host
site for the recording booth, which will be parked in the entrance
turn-around on the east side of the building,
April 16 through May 15 (full turn-around access may be limited during this time).
Everyone is invited to stop by the Museum for
StoryCorps Opening Day, April 16. The first VIP interview will be recorded at 10:30 am. This will be followed at
11:30 am by remarks, the opportunity to see the booth, and the chance to enjoy an activity and time with other StoryCorps fans. A second VIP interview will follow at 12:30 pm.
Reservations
are required to record a StoryCorps interview. The first round of
reservations will open Thursday, April 2, at 10 am; at that time, call 1
(800) 850-4406 or
click here. A second round of
reservations will open Friday, April 17, at 10 am. Participants will
receive a recording of their interview on CD. The recordings will also
be archived at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress
and at the Omaha Public Library.
A
members-only Listening Party will be held on Thursday, May 14, beginning at 6 pm in
the Witherspoon Concert Hall to celebrate the end of StoryCorps in
Omaha. A reception in the Storz Fountain Court will follow from 7–8 pm. Attendees must be a member of KIOS and/or Joslyn. Members will receive event information.
