In the spring of 2012, Joslyn sent one of its most well-known paintings to Amsterdam for study and treatment. Portrait of Dirck van Os (ca. 1658) has now been positively attributed to the great Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn. Be among the first to view this “new” masterpiece installed in the galleries at this special celebratory event hosted by the Joslyn Art Museum Association (JAMA). Lecture Luncheon begins at 10 am with registration, coffee, and private viewing of the Rembrandt. At 11 am, guest lecturer Alison Kettering will speak about the artist and Joslyn’s painting, followed immediately by lunch in the ConAgra Foods Atrium.

Honorary event chairs are Stacy and Bruce Simon.
JAMA President is Jeanie Jones, and the Lecture Luncheon committee is Neeru Bansal, Sue Conine, Brady Gibson, Kate Grabill, Julie Fritz, Jeanie Jones, Kyle Robino, Kelly Thedinger, and Lori Williams.

ALISON KETTERING is William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of Art History at Carleton College where her career spans more than 30 years. She specializes in early modern European art, with a special interest in seventeenth-century Dutch art. Her books and articles have concentrated on Dutch pastoral images, the art of Gerard ter Borch and his family, and Rembrandt’s portraiture and renderings of the male nude. She received her B.A. from Oberlin College and her M.A. and Ph.D. from University of California, Berkeley. She speaks Dutch and reads fluently in five languages.
