Photography & Lighting Simplified

Learn to use your
digital point and shoot camera to its fullest potential and how to control
simple lighting implements to enhance your photograph’s subject. Students will
first meet at Joslyn for a visit to an exhibition of photographs by William Wylie
and a brief overview of photography basics. All other sessions will meet at Hot
Shops Art Center where students will manipulate lamps and reflectors while
photographing a dressed model.

Photography: Advanced Lighting Techniques
Sundays: April 7, 14, 21, 28; 1-3:30 pm

*Students need to bring an advanced digital camera with external flash input.
This class is closed.
This class, designed
for students with advanced cameras, will focus on light and shadow through the
use of external flash components. Students will first meet at Joslyn for a tour
of photographs by William Wylie and an introduction to photography and lighting
concepts. All other classes will meet at Hot Shops Art Center to shoot a
dressed model with the use of advanced lighting elements such as color gel
filters, external flashes, and fog machines.

Photography on the Road: Shooting the Old Lincoln Highway
Sunday: May 5; 10 am-5 pm
Joslyn Members: $50; General Public: $60

This class is full. Click here to be placed on the waiting list.
This special excursion
will take you on the Old Lincoln Highway to capture the historic or interesting
sights along the way. The day will start at Joslyn with a tour William Wylie’s
photographs of Route 36 and a brief overview of photography techniques before
we load the van and travel one of America’s most historic roadways. A sack
lunch will be provided.
