Joslyn Art Museum Foundation
Message from the President

Throughout its seventy-five year history, Joslyn Art Museum has served visitors of all ages and provided the public access to some of the world’s greatest artistic treasures. Over that time, the Museum has been transformed from a small regional museum to what it is today; a national treasure with nearly 10,000 works of art and annual attendance that exceeds 230,000. While we celebrate our rich history during this 75th Jubilee year, we also look forward to the many accomplishments yet to come!
Through special and permanent exhibitions, innovative educational programming, and important scholarly publications, Joslyn Art Museum has played a central role as a place that brings art and people together, and is synonymous with quality and enrichment in the visual arts. The tremendous growth of the Museum and its collections has been accomplished through the generosity of many donors who understand the difference an art museum can make in the lives of those who live this community.
Joslyn Art Museum Foundation was founded in 2000 following the completion of the Realizing Greatness campaign, which raised $45.5 million to build the Scott Pavilion. Established as a non-profit organization, the Foundation currently employs two full-time staff and supports the mission of the Museum by raising major gifts in support of capital projects and endowment. The Foundation also serves as trustee of the important investments made by donors and ensures that gifts made to the Museum are safeguarded and used as the donor intends.
You will find, as you move through the website, information about the many opportunities to help sculpt the future of the Museum. In November 2006 we announced a campaign to redesign the Joslyn campus. The $10 million campaign will create a new and significant sculpture garden, bringing the museum experience outdoors and creating a new and improved entrance to the Joslyn campus.
In addition, Joslyn Art Museum Foundation has committed to increasing the endowment to $40 million over the next ten years. Endowment growth is essential to the continued growth of the Museum and its programs. There are many ways to contribute to Joslyn’s endowment funds. Click here to learn more.
It is an exciting time for the Museum. With a facility that is first-rate, a committed Board of Governors, dedicated staff providing important exhibitions and programming, and a soon-to-be spectacularly enhanced campus, we stand poised to take the Museum to the next level. We thank you for your past and continued support, as we would not be able to accomplish such great things without it.
