Gifts of Art
With the gift of the magnificent Joslyn Art Museum to the Omaha community in 1931, Sarah Joslyn hoped that citizens would provide the art to fill the galleries. To this day, her expectations continue to be admirably realized.
Each year, Joslyn strives to acquire the finest works of art. This is accomplished through Museum purchases and gifts of art to enhance the permanent collection, the heart of any museum.
Art purchases are made possible through endowed funds that generate income, a portion of which are used each year for acquisitions. Gifts of art to Joslyn are made through the generosity of collectors and individuals who wish to share their treasured piece(s) in order to educate and inspire visitors for generations to come.
There are many ways to make a gift of art to Joslyn that will meet your charitable, financial, estate and/or personal goals:
- Outright gifts of art or cash allow donors to receive a charitable deduction on their income taxes.
- Fractional gifts allow donors to keep partial ownership of their artwork and receive a charitable deduction for tax purposes.
- Bequests allow donors to keep their artwork for the remainder of their life while ensuring it will have a proper home in perpetuity.
Making donations to Joslyn's Art Purchase Fund, whether it be cash gifts or gifts of art, allows Joslyn to create access to great works that would not otherwise be available.
