Joslyn Art Museum: Ancient Greek Pottery overviews ancient pottery from the museum's permanent collection. One purpose of this exhibition and catalogue is to present Joslyn's collection of ancient vases to the public. Another aim is to illustrated the methods which the classical archaeologist uses to study Greek pottery to acquire knowledge of the ancient past. Specificially, the design of the catalogue is intended to acquaint the viewer with the history and development of Greek pottery, its uses and meaning in its original context and its relationship to other expressions of ancient Greek culture.
