About Beth Brown-Gershovich
When they made me they broke the mold. Thankfully my mother recognized my originality and encouraged me to follow the beat of my own drummer instead of following the crowd; and to celebrate my sense of whimsy and childlike wonder of discovery. When I was a child, during the summers, she always made sure I could go do as many arts and crafts as I wanted through Memorial Park’s (Omaha, NE) summer camp program. All of this early experience is reflected in my artwork.
I have a real passion for color and texture. I draw my inspiration from so many places: people I know, The Holy K Trinity (Kandinsky, Klimt, and Kahlo), nature, animals, and good old fashioned life experiences. For the most part, I am self-taught and continue to learn new things. So many ideas, so little time!
Art enhances daily living, and I believe in creating artwork that is both fun/beautiful and functional, because everyone has the right to surround themselves with what they consider art.
