Outreach Opportunities
Joslyn Art Museum offers a variety of programs that reach beyond the walls of the Museum to engage school and community groups. Outreach programs are a great choice for educators looking to build upon an upcoming or previous visit to Joslyn Art Museum, for those unable to visit the Museum with their group, or for those seeking a more in-depth experience for their students. At the center of Joslyn's outreach program are our Outreach Trunks, loanable resources full of hands-on objects, art reproductions, books, and activities. Additionally, special outreach initiatives include opportunities for audiences with special needs.
Outreach Trunks
Joslyn's Outreach Trunks are multidisciplinary education resources designed to strengthen students' appreciation of art. They are excellent stand-alone materials for use in the classroom, and can also help teachers prepare for or follow-up their visit to Joslyn Art Museum. Trunks can be used with any grade level unless otherwise noted.
Trunks are available for loan to schools and community groups at no charge, and can include materials such as:
- Teacher guides with lesson plans
- Hands-on objects
- Poster reproductions
- Classroom activities
- Books
- Videos and DVDs
- CDs of images
Please note that Joslyn will ship trunks via UPS to teachers outside of the Omaha metro area. Teachers within the Omaha area are to pick up and return the trunks to Joslyn Art Museum.

In addition to the regular offerings listed above, Joslyn Art Museum welcomes special requests. We will make every effort to meet the needs of your group and ensure that your visit is an enriching one.
