Conservation
The hallmark of Joslyn Art Museum is our permanent collection. Conserving the works in the collection is one of Joslyn's essential roles, and ensures that these works are available to future generations. Joslyn works with conservators from around the country to assess the status of works in our collection and to conduct appropriate treatment.
Typical conservation projects for our collection might entail cleaning and revarnishing an oil on canvas. Other examples might include repairing a work on paper where damage has occurred to the paper, or a decorative object that sustained damage to the finish.
In order to continue to conserve the pieces in our collection, your support is needed. Conserving the works we own is just as essential as obtaining new works. With your help, important pieces of artwork in need of attention can regain their natural interest.
The following works are specific projects the Museum would like to undertake, once the financial resources are located. We invite you to leave a legacy for generations to come through conservation of works from our permanent collection.
